Instructions

  1. 1

Combine oolong leaves and osmanthus flowers in a large glass jar or cold brew pitcher.

  2. 2

Pour cold filtered water over the leaves. Stir gently to ensure all leaves are submerged.

  3. 3

Cover and refrigerate for 10–12 hours (overnight is ideal). Do not exceed 14 hours or the tea may turn bitter.

  4. 4

Strain through a fine-mesh sieve or cold brew filter into a clean pitcher. Discard spent leaves.

  5. 5

Serve over ice in small glasses. A tiny drizzle of honey enhances the natural sweetness without masking the floral notes.

Pro tip

Dong Ding oolong is roasted and nutty; Ali Shan is lighter and more floral — both work beautifully. Dried osmanthus flowers are available at Chinese grocery stores and online.
