Cold Brew Oolong

Floral Taiwanese oolong cold-brewed overnight — the slow cold extraction draws out a creamy, complex sweetness that hot brewing simply cannot match. Serve it straight over ice and let the tea speak for itself.

Instructions

  1. 1

Place the oolong leaves in a large jar or pitcher. Pour the cold filtered water over and stir gently.

  2. 2

Cover and refrigerate for 10–12 hours. Oolong cold brews more slowly than green or white tea — the longer steep extracts its full floral and creamy character.

  3. 3

Strain through a fine mesh sieve into a clean pitcher.

  4. 4

Taste before adding anything — cold brew oolong is naturally sweet and complex. Serve over ice, plain or with a lemon slice.

Pro tip

High Mountain oolong (Ali Shan, Li Shan) gives the most pronounced floral and creamy notes in cold brew. Tie Guan Yin is more accessible and still excellent. Roasted oolongs (Dong Ding, Wuyi) cold brew into something nuttier and more caramel-like — a completely different but equally rewarding drink. Both are worth trying.
