Matcha Vanilla Almond Iced Latte

The gentlest, most approachable matcha drink in the collection. Almond milk's subtle nuttiness and a touch of real vanilla extract soften matcha's earthy intensity into something almost dessert-like — sweet, fragrant, and deeply satisfying. This is the recipe that converts matcha sceptics. The vanilla doesn't overpower; it just makes everything taste a little more luxurious.

Matcha Vanilla Almond Iced Latte

Instructions

  1. 1

Sift matcha into a small bowl. Whisk with 60ml of 75°C water until completely smooth and frothy.

  2. 2

Stir honey into the warm matcha until dissolved.

  3. 3

Stir vanilla extract into the cold almond milk.

  4. 4

Fill two glasses with ice. Pour the vanilla almond milk over the ice, then slowly pour the matcha concentrate over the back of a spoon to create a layered effect.

  5. 5

Serve immediately. Stir before drinking to blend the layers.

Pro tip

Use pure vanilla extract, not imitation — the difference in flavour is significant. Barista almond milk (Califia Farms, Silk Barista) stays smooth and doesn't separate in cold drinks. For an extra-indulgent version, add a tiny pinch of cardamom to the matcha concentrate. This recipe also works beautifully with oat milk or cashew milk.
