Matcha Rose Iced Latte

Floral, elegant, and quietly luxurious. A small amount of rose water transforms a standard iced matcha latte into something that feels like it belongs in a Parisian café. The rose doesn't overpower — it lifts the matcha's natural sweetness and adds a perfumed finish that lingers. Oat milk keeps it creamy without heaviness. One of those drinks that makes you slow down and savour.

Matcha Rose Iced Latte

Instructions

  1. 1

Sift matcha into a small bowl. Whisk with 60ml of 75°C water until smooth and frothy with no lumps.

  2. 2

Stir honey into the warm matcha concentrate until dissolved.

  3. 3

Add rose water to the cold oat milk and stir gently. Start with 1/4 tsp and taste — rose water varies in strength and a little goes a long way.

  4. 4

Fill two glasses with ice. Pour the rose oat milk over the ice, then slowly pour the matcha concentrate over the back of a spoon to create a layered effect.

  5. 5

Garnish with a few dried rose petals if available. Stir before drinking.

Pro tip

Rose water potency varies enormously between brands — Iranian and Bulgarian rose waters tend to be more concentrated than supermarket versions. Always start with less and add more. Dried edible rose petals are available at specialty food stores and Middle Eastern grocers, and make this drink look stunning. For a pink version, add a tiny drop of beet juice to the oat milk.
