Cherry Limeade Iced Tea

Tart cherry juice and fresh lime stirred into chilled black tea — bright, tangy, and deeply refreshing. The cherry-lime combination is a classic for a reason, and it is even better with tea as the base.

Instructions

  1. 1

Steep the tea bags in boiling water for 4 minutes. Remove bags and let cool completely.

  2. 2

Combine the cooled tea, cherry juice, lime juice, simple syrup, and cold water in a pitcher. Stir well.

  3. 3

Taste and adjust — tart cherry juice varies in sweetness, so you may need more or less syrup.

  4. 4

Refrigerate until cold. Serve over ice with a lime wheel and a fresh cherry.

Pro tip

Use 100% pure tart cherry juice (Montmorency cherries), not sweetened cherry cocktail — the tartness is what makes this drink work. Tart cherry juice is also a natural source of melatonin, making this a surprisingly good evening drink. For a sparkling version, replace the cold water with sparkling water.
